Take Your Cattitude to Work

June 15, 2017

You may have heard about Take Your Dog To Work Day, which is coming up June 24th. Many pups whose owners work in pet-friendly places will spend that day getting belly rubs and helping their human pals earn money for treats and toys. But what about people with cats? Although there actually is a Take Your Cat To Work Day, taking Fluffy to work may not be the best idea. After all, your feline buddy would probably spend the day eating reports, knocking pens off desks, walking across keyboards, and generally just sleeping on the job. However, some kitty philosophies may actually be quite helpful in the workplace! Here, an Oconomowoc, WI vet discusses taking your cattitude to work.

Don’t Stew On Things

Kitties can be a bit temperamental. Your feline buddy may purr when you pet her, only to change her mind and walk away a minute later. However, even if you make the grave error of petting your cat longer than she wishes, Fluffy won’t hold a grudge. Don’t let little things get under your skin!

Be Well Rested

If Fluffy had to work for a living, she would probably spend the majority of her time napping. This probably won’t go over well with the average boss, so just take a cue from your drowsy pet. Make sure to get plenty of rest!

Look Your Best

Cats spend quite a bit of time carefully grooming themselves. This is another great lesson we can take from our furry pals. Always look your best!

Concentrate

Fluffy may look quite silly when she is trying to catch that pesky red dot or that dangling feather toy, but chances are, she’s really concentrating on timing those tricky pounces just right. Stay focused!

Have A Good Breakfast

If there is one thing cats take seriously, aside from napping, it’s the importance of breakfast. (Kitties are also big fans of the second breakfast, but that’s another topic.) Have a good breakfast before you head off to work!

Find Your Niche

Although we first domesticated cats for their hunting prowess, as it turns out, not all of our feline friends are talented mousers. In fact, some furballs have never caught a single thing! Find a job that is right for you.
